Gravity survey

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001741

A geophysical exploration method that measures variations in the Earth's gravitational field across an area. These measurements are used to detect subsurface density contrasts, which can reveal geological structures like salt domes, faults, and sedimentary basin configurations. Gravity surveys are often conducted as a reconnaissance tool before more expensive seismic surveys.
