Initial reservoir pressure
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001983
The pressure within a petroleum reservoir before any fluid production has occurred. This pressure represents the original energy state of the reservoir and is a key parameter for estimating reserves and predicting reservoir performance. It is typically measured by shutting in the first well drilled into a new reservoir until the pressure stabilizes.
