Virgin pressure
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004049
The initial reservoir pressure before any production of hydrocarbons or injection of fluids has occurred. This pressure represents the original state of the reservoir and is a fundamental parameter for estimating reserves and designing production strategies. Virgin pressure is typically measured by a drill stem test (DST) or wireline formation tester before a well is put on stream.
