Wireline formation tester
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004169
A downhole tool deployed on a wireline to measure formation pressures and collect fluid samples from specific intervals in an openhole well. It uses a probe or packer system to seal against the borehole wall, allowing fluid to be drawn into a chamber or pressure to be recorded. These tools are often equipped with pressure gauges and fluid analyzers to characterize reservoir properties.
