Time-lapse seismic data
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003853
Seismic data acquired repeatedly over the same subsurface area at different points in time, typically to monitor changes in a producing reservoir. By comparing successive seismic surveys, geoscientists can detect alterations in fluid saturation, pressure, and temperature within the reservoir. This technique, also known as 4D seismic, provides insights into fluid movement, sweep efficiency, and remaining oil saturation during production.
