Titrate
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003854
To perform a chemical analysis by gradually adding a solution of known concentration (the titrant) to a solution of unknown concentration (the analyte) until the reaction is complete. This process determines the concentration of a specific component in the drilling fluid, such as alkalinity or chloride content. The endpoint of the reaction is often indicated by a color change or a change in pH.
