Gas buster
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001612
A piece of surface equipment designed to separate gas from drilling mud, particularly when drilling through zones with high gas content. It typically consists of a large vessel where mud is directed, allowing entrained gas to break out and be safely vented away from the rig. This prevents gas from accumulating in the mud system and posing a fire hazard.
