Hangoff

To suspend a string of pipe or tubing from a hanger in the wellhead, transferring its weight from the drilling rig to the wellhead structure. This action secures the pipe in place after it has been run into the wellbore to a desired depth. The hangoff procedure is performed before the drilling rig is moved off location.
