Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002008
A product of a refining or chemical process that is neither the initial raw material nor the final finished product. These substances are produced in one processing unit and then serve as the feedstock for a subsequent unit to undergo further conversion or blending. For example, naphtha produced by a crude distillation unit is an intermediate that becomes feedstock for a catalytic reformer to produce high-octane gasoline components.
