Jackup

A mobile offshore drilling unit with a hull that floats to the drilling location and then extends legs to the seabed. Once the legs are firmly on the bottom, the hull is jacked up above the water surface to create a stable drilling platform. These rigs are suitable for shallow to moderate water depths, typically up to 400 feet.
