Marsh funnel viscosity
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002288
A measure of the relative viscosity of a drilling fluid, determined by the time it takes for one quart (946 ml) of mud to flow out of a Marsh funnel. This field test provides a quick, qualitative indication of the mud's consistency and its ability to suspend solids. Typical values for drilling muds range from 30 to 90 seconds.
