Moving-source method
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002434
A profiling technique in which the energy source and the receivers move together as a unit, keeping a fixed spacing, so every measurement along the survey line is made with the same geometry. It is most common in electromagnetic surveys, including marine controlled-source electromagnetics, where a constant source-receiver relationship keeps readings comparable from one point to the next.
