Profiling
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002968
The process of acquiring and presenting geophysical data, such as seismic, gravity, or magnetic measurements, along a continuous line to create a cross-sectional view of the subsurface. Seismic profiling involves recording reflections or refractions as a source and receiver array move along a survey line. This technique is used to map geological structures and identify potential hydrocarbon reservoirs.
