Mud hopper

A cone-shaped device used to mix dry drilling fluid additives, such as bentonite or barite, into the circulating mud system. It uses a high-pressure jet of drilling fluid to create a venturi effect, drawing the dry material into the stream and dispersing it. This equipment is typically located near the mud tanks.
