Nonhydrocarbon contaminants

Substances found in natural gas or crude oil that are not hydrocarbons and can negatively impact processing, transportation, or product quality. Common examples include carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, nitrogen, and water vapor. These contaminants must often be removed to meet pipeline specifications or product purity standards.
