O-ring
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002644
A circular, elastomeric seal with a round cross-section, commonly used to prevent fluid or gas leakage between two mating parts in downhole tools and surface equipment. When compressed between two surfaces, it deforms to fill the gap, creating a tight seal. O-rings are selected based on their material compatibility with the fluids and the operating temperature and pressure.
