Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001230
A type of seal designed to prevent fluid leakage between two surfaces that are in relative motion. These seals maintain contact and sealing integrity while one component moves, such as a rotating shaft or a reciprocating rod. Examples include O-rings, lip seals, and mechanical seals, which are selected based on operating pressure, temperature, and fluid compatibility.
