Propylene glycol normal propyl ether
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002978
A propylene-oxide-based glycol ether, 1-propoxy-2-propanol, that is partly soluble in water and miscible with most organic solvents, so it couples oil and water phases and acts as a mutual solvent. It is a colourless, flammable liquid with good solvency for oils and greases, used in cleaning formulations and well treatment fluids. Its boiling point is about 150 degrees C and its formula is C6H14O2.
