Sand consolidation
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003243
A chemical treatment applied to a producing formation to prevent the movement of unconsolidated sand into the wellbore. This process involves injecting a resin or plastic into the pore spaces of the formation, which then hardens to bind the sand grains together. The treatment aims to maintain formation integrity while preserving permeability for fluid flow.
