Sand

A granular material composed of loose, unconsolidated rock and mineral particles, predominantly quartz, with grain sizes ranging from 0.0625 mm to 2 mm. In oil and gas, sand forms highly porous and permeable reservoir rocks, allowing for the accumulation and flow of hydrocarbons. Sandstone reservoirs are among the most common and productive types globally.
