Seal receptacle
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003289
A polished bore component installed as part of a downhole completion assembly, designed to accept a seal assembly. It provides a smooth, honed internal surface against which the seals of a moving or stationary component, such as a packer or tubing expansion joint, can create a high-pressure hydraulic barrier. These receptacles are manufactured from high-strength alloys and have precisely machined internal diameters to match specific seal stack configurations.
