Sealbore
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003290
The internal, polished surface of a downhole tool, such as a packer or landing nipple, designed to receive a seal assembly and create a pressure-tight barrier. A seal assembly on another tool, like a tubing string or plug, is inserted into the sealbore, and its elastomer or metal seals engage with the polished surface. Packer sealbores are available in a range of lengths, with longer versions accommodating more tubing movement from thermal expansion or contraction.
