Simulated annealing
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003419
A probabilistic metaheuristic method used for finding an approximate global optimum of a function in a large search space. In reservoir characterization, it is applied to inverse problems, such as history matching reservoir simulation models. This technique explores the parameter space to find a model that best fits observed data.
