A manufactured fuel gas, also known as substitute natural gas (SNG), that can be mixed with or used in place of natural gas. It is produced from other hydrocarbon sources, such as coal, petroleum liquids, or biomass, through processes like gasification and methanation. The final product has a high methane content and a heating value comparable to pipeline-quality natural gas.
