Swab

To pull a tool or device, often with a sealing element, up the wellbore to create a pressure differential that causes formation fluids to flow into the well. This operation is performed to clean the well, test productivity, or initiate flow from a reservoir. Swabbing can also refer to the act of pulling the drill string too quickly, causing a reduction in bottomhole pressure.
