Sweet crude oil
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003726
Crude oil containing very low concentrations of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and other sulfur compounds, making it less corrosive and easier to refine. Its low sulfur content reduces the need for extensive desulfurization processes, which are costly and energy-intensive. Crude oil is considered sweet if its sulfur content is typically less than 0.5% by weight.
