Sour crude oil

Crude oil containing a relatively high concentration of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and other sulfur compounds. The presence of H2S makes the oil corrosive and toxic, requiring specialized handling and processing equipment. Crude oil is generally considered sour if its sulfur content exceeds 0.5% by weight.
