Sour gas

Natural gas containing a high concentration of hydrogen sulfide (H2S), carbon dioxide (CO2), or both. The presence of H2S makes the gas corrosive and toxic, requiring specialized handling and processing equipment. Regulations for H2S content vary by jurisdiction, but concentrations above 4 parts per million are generally considered sour.
