Transient pressure
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003893
The time-dependent pressure variation within a reservoir that occurs in response to a change in production or injection rates. This pressure wave propagates from the wellbore outwards into the formation until it reaches a boundary or stabilizes. Analysis of transient pressure data, often plotted on a log-log scale against time, reveals reservoir properties like permeability, skin factor, and boundary locations.
