Traveling slips

The slips on the moving head of a snubbing jack, which grip the pipe and carry it up or down as the hydraulic cylinders stroke, while the stationary slips hold the pipe in place during the return stroke. Working in turn, the two sets let the unit run pipe into a live well or pull it out in increments against wellbore pressure.
