Stationary snubbers

The fixed slips and bowl of a snubbing unit, anchored to the wellhead or snubbing blowout preventers, that grip the pipe and hold it against wellbore pressure or its own weight while the traveling slips reset for the next stroke. Separate sets are fitted for pipe-light and pipe-heavy conditions, since each must resist force in the opposite direction.
