Snubbing force
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003483
The downward force applied to a pipe string to overcome wellbore pressure and friction, allowing the string to be run into a live well against upward pressure. This force is necessary when the weight of the pipe string itself is insufficient to counteract the wellbore pressure. It is typically generated by hydraulic snubbing units.
