Intradermal vaccination with the autologous DCs transduced with wt p53 Ad vaccine may stimulate the host immune system to mount a cytotoxic T-lymphocyte (CTL) response against tumor cells overexpressing wt and mutant forms of p53, resulting in tumor cell lysis. p53, a tumor suppressor gene, is overexpressed and/or mutated in many tumor cells, resulting in the loss of apoptosis regulation and abnormal cell proliferation.",
