Indium phosphide
Term · Semiconductors · MLC-T-SEM-000171
A compound semiconductor made from indium and phosphorus, characterized by its direct bandgap and high electron velocity. It is primarily used in high-speed optoelectronic devices, such as photodetectors, laser diodes, and optical modulators for fiber optic communication systems. InP substrates are also employed for fabricating high-frequency transistors.
