Gallium nitride
Term · Semiconductors · MLC-T-SEM-000146
A wide bandgap semiconductor material composed of gallium and nitrogen, valued for its high breakdown voltage, high electron mobility, and thermal stability. It is widely used in high-power and high-frequency applications, including power electronics, radio frequency devices, and blue and ultraviolet light-emitting diodes. GaN devices can operate at much higher temperatures and voltages than silicon-based counterparts.
