Epitaxy
Term · Semiconductors · MLC-T-SEM-000118
A process for growing a crystalline layer of a semiconductor material on a crystalline substrate, where the grown layer has the same crystal orientation as the substrate. This technique allows for the precise control of layer thickness and composition, enabling the creation of complex device structures. Epitaxial layers are widely used in advanced transistors and optoelectronic devices.
