Compound semiconductor
Term · Semiconductors · MLC-T-SEM-000067
A semiconductor material formed from two or more elements, contrasting with elemental semiconductors like silicon or germanium. These materials often exhibit unique electrical and optical properties not found in single-element semiconductors, such as direct bandgaps suitable for light emission. Examples include gallium arsenide (GaAs) and indium phosphide (InP).
