Junction
Term · Semiconductors · MLC-T-SEM-000188
A boundary within a semiconductor material where two different types of doping meet, typically forming a p-n junction. This interface creates a depletion region with an electric field that allows current to flow predominantly in one direction. Diodes, transistors, and many other semiconductor devices rely on the properties of these junctions for their operation.
