Metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor

Term · Semiconductors · MLC-T-SEM-000214

A type of field-effect transistor that uses an insulated gate to control the conductivity of a semiconductor channel. It is the most common transistor in digital and analog circuits, forming the basis of microprocessors, memory chips, and other integrated circuits. MOSFETs operate by varying the voltage on the gate, which modulates the current flow between the source and drain terminals.
