Channel
Term · Semiconductors · MLC-T-SEM-000055
The region in a field-effect transistor (FET) where current flows between the source and drain terminals. The conductivity of this region is controlled by the voltage applied to the gate electrode. In n-type MOSFETs, the channel is formed by electrons, while in p-type MOSFETs, it is formed by holes.
