p-type
Term · Semiconductors · MLC-T-SEM-000272
Describing a semiconductor material doped with acceptor impurities, such as boron in silicon, which create a surplus of holes that act as the majority charge carriers. These holes are vacancies in the valence band that readily accept electrons, facilitating electrical conduction. The conductivity of a p-type semiconductor increases with temperature.
