Intrinsic semiconductor
Term · Semiconductors · MLC-T-SEM-000180
A pure semiconductor material with no intentionally added impurities, where the number of free electrons in the conduction band is equal to the number of holes in the valence band. At absolute zero temperature, an intrinsic semiconductor behaves as an insulator. The electrical conductivity of an intrinsic semiconductor increases with temperature.
