FinFET
Term · Semiconductors · MLC-T-SEM-000135
A type of transistor design that uses a thin silicon 'fin' to form the channel, allowing the gate to wrap around it on three sides. This provides better electrostatic control over the channel compared to planar transistors, reducing leakage current and improving switching speed. FinFETs are widely used in advanced semiconductor nodes below 20 nanometers.
