Cermet
Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000070
A composite material composed of ceramic particles embedded in a metallic matrix, combining the high temperature resistance and hardness of ceramics with the toughness and ductility of metals. In additive manufacturing, cermets can be processed using techniques like binder jetting or directed energy deposition to create parts with enhanced wear resistance and strength. Tungsten carbide-cobalt is a common cermet.
