Composite material
Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000075
A material engineered from two or more constituent materials with significantly different physical or chemical properties, which remain separate and distinct at the macroscopic or microscopic level within the finished structure. In additive manufacturing, composites often involve a polymer matrix reinforced with fibers or particles to achieve enhanced strength, stiffness, or other desired characteristics. Carbon fiber reinforced plastics are a common example.
