Monomer
Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000241
A small molecule that can chemically bond with other identical or similar monomers to form a larger chain-like molecule called a polymer. In additive manufacturing, liquid photopolymer resins used in stereolithography (SLA) and digital light processing (DLP) are composed of monomers that polymerize upon exposure to UV light. This cross-linking reaction solidifies the resin layer by layer.
