Sheet lamination
Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000346
An additive manufacturing process, designated SHL for Sheet Lamination, that builds objects by stacking and bonding thin sheets of material. Each layer is formed by feeding a sheet of paper, plastic, or metal foil over the build platform, bonding it to the previous layer, and then cutting the cross-sectional shape with a laser or blade. The excess material from each sheet is removed, and the process is repeated until the part is complete, making it suitable for producing large prototypes and visual models.
