Recoater blade
Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000325
A component in powder bed fusion additive manufacturing systems that spreads a fresh, uniform layer of powder across the build platform before each new layer is solidified. This blade, often made of rubber, ceramic, or metal, moves across the powder bed to level the material. The thickness of the recoated layer directly influences the vertical resolution of the printed part.
