Alopecia

The partial or complete loss of hair from areas of the body where it normally grows, such as the scalp. In toxicology, it is recognized as a potential adverse effect resulting from exposure to certain chemicals or physical agents, including chemotherapeutic drugs and ionizing radiation. The condition is classified based on its pattern and extent, with alopecia areata referring to patchy hair loss and alopecia totalis describing the loss of all scalp hair.
