Hirsutism

A condition in women characterized by excessive growth of coarse, dark hair in a male-like pattern, such as on the face, chest, and back. This is typically caused by an excess of androgens (male hormones) or increased sensitivity of hair follicles to these hormones. Polycystic ovary syndrome is a common underlying cause of hirsutism.
